Dustin Pate is a South Carolina native and joined Western Sky as a volunteer in April of 2011. In July of 2011, Dustin began his current role as Conservation Planning Coordinator where he oversees the planning, implementation and management of Western Sky's conservation projects. Dustin holds degrees in historic preservation and community planning from The College of Charleston and a Master of City and Regional Planning (MCRP) from Clemson University.

Dustin is a former professional baseball player and enjoys passing on his knowledge and passion for the game to young people as a youth baseball coach in Calgary. He is also an avid outdoorsman and enjoys skiing, hiking, hunting, and training his two Labrador retrievers. Dustin's passion for natural open spaces, his enjoyment in connecting with people, and his talent for conservation make him a welcome addition to Western Sky.
